Larry A. Gideon, 74, a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Iowa Veterans Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery in Marshalltown. Larry Gideon, son of Clyde and Shirley (Hodges) Gideon was born July 29, 1941 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He graduated from Ottumwa High School with the class of 1960. After high school, Larry served in the United States Army, being honorably discharged in 1963. In life he was blessed with two sons: Scott and Larry Don. Larry loved entertainment and spent some of his life working as a musician. Later in life Larry worked as a truck driver.

He is survived by his brothers, Donald (Cindy) Gideon of Oregon, Illinois and Danny (Linda) Gideon of Ottumwa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Shirley.
